For centuries, local farmers in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala have sourced raw honey from forest hives, using it in everything from temple rituals to grandmother’s home remedies, and today modern science backs what tradition already knew: the health benefits of honey are vast and vital for maintaining overall well-being.
In Telugu households across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, pure honey (తేనె, Thene) has always been far more than a sweetener. It is a trusted home remedy, an Ayurvedic staple, and a kitchen ingredient that generations have turned to instinctively for everything from soothing a sore throat to boosting daily immunity. Pure honey is rich in antioxidants and nutrients that support immunity, aid digestion, and promote overall health, and raw, unprocessed honey retains its natural enzymes, antioxidants, and nutritional value fully intact. Raw honey contains high levels of antioxidants, including flavonoids and phenolic acids, which help slow ageing, fight cell damage, and protect cells from free radicals. It’s natural hydrogen peroxide, and phytonutrients also offer powerful antibacterial and antifungal effects. At GSR Foods, our Farm-fresh, raw, natural pure Honey is sourced with care and bottled with absolutely no artificial preservatives, giving you the full, unadulterated goodness of real honey exactly as nature intended, straight from hive to your home across South India and beyond.
Instructions
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight at room temperature.
- Always keep the lid tightly closed after every use to maintain natural flavour, aroma, and nutritional potency.
- Do not refrigerate, as cold temperatures cause honey to crystallise rapidly. If crystallisation occurs at room temperature, gently place the jar in warm water to return it to a liquid state without heating.
- Shelf life is up to 12 months when stored correctly and kept away from moisture.
- Never add honey to boiling water or heat it directly, as high temperatures destroy natural enzymes and antioxidants, significantly reducing its health benefits.
- Do not use wet spoons or allow water to enter the jar, as moisture causes fermentation and spoils the honey.
- Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can alter colour, flavour, and nutritional quality.
- Do not give pure honey to infants below one year of age.
